Offshore substations play a crucial role in the world of renewable energy, particularly in offshore wind farms.
These specialised platforms serve as the vital link between the wind turbines at sea and the onshore power grid. KCI has supported its clients in both the basic and detailed design of these substations in the last 10 years, but also more recently focused on creating generic designs for Transmission System Operator (TSO) clients.
With this knowledge, we aim to support new TSO’s in the offshore wind industry by helping them create concepts or philosophies for their OSS designs, as well as to continue our services in follow-up engineering for the EPCI contractors.
