KCI the engineers is contributing to the energy transition with its involvement in the Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project Porthos. In the Porthos project, CO2 from industry in the Port of Rotterdam will be transported through an onshore and offshore pipeline to a platform in the North Sea, approximately 20 km off the coast. Once there, the gas will be compressed and subsequently injected into a depleted gas field. KCI was selected for the engineering of the modification of the TAQA owned P18-A platform for CCS.
Last week we reached a new milestone. In the presence of all stakeholders, we had a successful review of the 90% ready detailed design of the platform.
We are pleased with the trust that TAQA and Porthos have placed in us to support them in this project: engineering of the first platform to be re-used for permanent storage of CO2 offshore under the Dutch seabed. With this project we will contribute to the climate goals as part of the world’s energy transition.
We are looking forward to a successful continuation of this innovative and groundbreaking project.
